High Priests of Nepal

High priests of Nepal's Pashupathinath temple used to be from South India. So, for centuries. They were Havyaka Brahmins from Gokarna, wel versed in Vedic rituals. No longer so. Maoist governament sacked them recently. It should be noted that Kings of Kathmandu were called "Karnataka Rathna Simhasanadhishvara", indicating some Kannada connection!

"Where did you come from where did you go. When did you come from Kathmandu" yo!

IT does not define India

No, it does not. Textile is India's largest export business. Yet, no one ever talked about it not even the "smart", "free" media. Text tile industry employs more people than IT but they make less. That is why they do not count. Even after more than 5 lakh have lost their jobs? There is something wrong!

Incompetence Attacks India

I had shouted how and why Shivaraj Patil's appointment was an insult to India. Now, if your online profile reads "not political" read on. If you did not know what is the real meaning of such a claim, let me explain. Saying I am not political means, "run me over", "screw me as you like" or even, "step on me and I will take it sitting". Read on you are the "most wanted" in India not the terrorists.

Current government screwed democratic institutions; "non political" people kept quite. Most in metros hardly vote. Why will the politicians care? They are busy changing the rules of the game so they win all the time.

The attack on unarmed civilians is not the attack by terrorists. It is the result of incompetence that laid siege on India since 1960 0r so. No?

More on Yakshagana

I have blogged on what I thought about Yakshagana [observations]. There is a need to explain few more things such as its class. That will be done here. Unfortunately, much of the information on Yakshagana is in Kannada or available only offline. Not much information is available in English which the generation X,Y,Z mostly reads and thinks is the only acceptable source (I have had people (epistemologists!) tell me, "Oh! In a Kannada book; that is not reliable!". Those types will need something in English and they are getting it here).

I get totally pissed off looking at the Wikipedia article where Yakshagana is listed as one of the folk dances, along with Bangra and Kolata! Ignorance should have a limit and insulting, a bit shame. How can an art be called folk art if in it the artists have to create a character on the fly through mastery in dance, spontaneous speech and appropriate expressions, all of which, unlike in Bharatha Natya, are not pre-cooked meals? (Calling something folk is not bad or ldisrespectful because anything liked by people can not disregarded. However, when the term "folk" is used it carries an image of less refined not sophesticated or naive art, to which I have objections) . The expressions, music and almost everything in Yakshagana is contemporary and evolving. If classical art must have 15 century way of expressing emotions (unreasonable and way backwards in comparison to contemporary aesthetics) over amplified to an extent that over acting is the lest we can say about it then Yakshagana does not have it.

Much annoying is how musicians want to see in their yellow eyes. Should something be called classical art only if it belongs to or follows Karnataka Sangeetha or Hindustani? Sometimes, to an Yakshagana follower abhinaya in Kathak and Bharathanatya for instance seems inadequate and uninteresting compared to the amount of preparation that goes in to it. Moreover, none of the classical art forms now recognised by academies as so are complete thetrical art forms. They lack at least one form of theatrical performance. Yakshagana on the other hand has dialog, debate , dance, music, naration, very well developed poetry (written in celebrated Kannada metres), plot, costumes, and some features like interacting with audience that some urban elite might call "modern art" and publish papers (read bullshit) about (when done by Yakshagana artists it is nothing more than primitive folk concepts).

I will list here a few things that I think are more refined. ...

A trouble that is ignorance

I get irritated every time I am reminded that I do not know something. Irritation is incredible when I realise that no one knows! damn it, such simple things as:
  • -there is no way to say where tip of the pin is when placed in between the marks 1 and 2 in a measuring ruler.
  • -we have no clue why there are prime numbers. there are some ideas but again they leave some questions unanswered.
  • -why are most of fractals occurring nature mostly are of the order 2 or 3? (Or I do not know)
  • -given a set of rules there is at least one thing we can not prove using them (roughly)
  • the distribution of prime number! what the hell is the way to predict the next prime number given p a prime number?
  • -why is receptor mechanism in organisms so reliable even when it is not definitive?
  • -simple thing as matching strings is NP complete.
  • -hell, there no way to prove some problem is NP complete.
What do we know then? Nothing!

A leaf from nature's book

I did not know what the tittle of this book was when I bought it. Neither did I know who the hell the author was! I did not matter and it does not matter. "the gecko's foot", is an intersting book.

The book is about how scientists have borrowed concepts from nature. Although, it does not mention it, the book is actually about 'creating materials based on natural materials, plants and animals'.

For example, water drops never stick to Taro leaf (ಕೆಸವಿನ ಎಲೆ) (Elephant-ear/Colocasia esculenta). This is true with Lotus as well. Hence the so called Lotus Effect. The scientists have used the priciple behind this effect to create slef cleaning spoons. i.e. we can dip the spoon in honey and honey does not stick to the spoon! Famous velcro tapes are a similar invention.

The book discusses numerous such materials and explains the bio-inspiration.behind them. The author drags the subject around and sometimes loses focus. Peter Forbes talks about how bio-inspired industries productised inventions, what happened to the business and also anecdotes related to his visits, which are boaring. Otherwise, the book is good. I struggled to complete it as the author spoke too much about business and less about science.

I am feeling generous today. I will send this book by post ,at my own cost, to the person who first expresses interest to read, by leaving a comment bellow this blog post or by sending an email. Wish you happy DeepavaLi. I would also welcome any book exchange offers.

THE BOOK IS GONE and has been claimed!

We tried playing something right there when we met (Beck Tang and me). It was not bad. A light grove (dadra) matched a melody Beck had in mind and we played amid the noice. Here is thtat clip on you tube.

Erhu is an amazing instrument and Beck played it very well. Its simplicity is unbelivable. It has only two strings and abunch of horse hair tied to a blow in between the two strings!

My bicycle is my Geeta

It is said Gandhi used to find solace, when in turmoil, by reading a verse or two from the Geeta. If we can understand and practice the wisdom briefed in Geeta, we could probably find solace. But when I realise that things we know are not the way we have known them, It is very hard to reconcile with reality. Not because reality is bad, may be because I need to get real (and get a life :)). I ride my cheap bicycle and go where the road takes me. But I mostly endup in downtown and then take the train to nearest station! It is fun to ride home from the nearest station at 2 in the morning becasue it is only 5 kms away.

Here are some of my bicycle routes. I like the Don Valley route the most. It reminds of my village especially when it rains.

hydraulaphone

Hydraulaphone in front of the Ontorio Science Centre

Hydraulaphone is a musical instrument. There is one right infront of the Ontorio Science Centre, two minutes walk from where I live. Pressurised water flows out of a pipe through wholes and closing those holes produces flute like sound. The instrument is big and produces lound notes.

I met a guy called Steve who played it very well. He asked me some questions and I ran home and back to bring my Tabla. He helped me by tapping his feet and we played. It was ok. He recorded some beats and said will send the video.

Rice Flakes - Poha (Chuduva)(ಮಸಾಲೆ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ)

Avalakki Masale (Chuduva) or Rice Flake Fry
-------------------------------
Now, are you married? Does not matter. But let me tell you one thing. If you got a wife who refuses to cook Poha or Avalakki Masale on the most polite request and you are an Indian, oh boy, you got the laziest wife one can ever get! Bcoz it takes only 10 minutes litterally TEN as in 'T' 'E' 'N' minutes to cook it and it tastes heaven. Do not raise your brows. I said it for fun. I can not say it even if I wanted to; I will ge murdered man. Haven't you watched those Balaji serial shows? Women r so damn violent these days (at least in there).

1 spoon oil (you can easily import it from Iran or borrow from Bush!)
some Peanuts (this helps you go nuts)
1 spoon Urd Daal (ಉದ್ದಿನ ಬೇಳೆ)
1 spoon Jeera (ಜೀರಿಗೆ - ಯಾರಿಗೆ? ಜೀರಿಗೆ)
1/2 spoon Turmeric (Indians really need to find some other colour soon)
some Green Chillies
1/2 spoon Red Chilli powder (my idea; makes it really Indian)
some Curry Leaves

Fry the hell out of all these (be wise add curry leaves at the end).
make a solution of salt and tamarind in a cup.
mix poha or avalakki to these and pour salt and Tamarind solution.
I like mixing raw onion separately. I like to eat too! It will taste like the one above.

Making this stuff is much easier than eating. You need 64 bit mouth 32 bit mouth wont work.

Capitalistic Fundamentalism

A response to Deepak Chopra's "pearls"
.
.
There is no difference between extreme capitalists and other fundamentalists. They are capitalistic fundamentalists: an opportunistic person who will do anything to make money.
.
While facts can be appreciated sentiments should also be respected. To expect everyone in the society to be able to think like the most aware, enlightened or mature is also fundamentalism. To expect everyone to think rationally is also fundamentalism.
.
.
Reality is much different from ideal situation. Being intolerant to reality is again a type of fundamentalism. So anyone who wants everything ideal is not any different.

Mulukhia - Egyptian Recipe

Ingradients: [1]
.
1 pound Mulukhia chopped leaves
12 sliced gralic cloves
2 spoons Dhania (ground Coriander seeds)
1 spoon salt and pepper
1/2 Lemon (optional: not in Ihabs list, my addition)
2 spoons oil
.
.
How:
Fry Coriander powder and sliced garlic cloves in oil until the garlic is brown. Keep it aside.
Pour Mulukhia in a pot and add a glass full of water. Boil for 15 minutes in an open pot.
Add salt and pepper to Mulukhia.
Mix the fried coriander and garlic paste to Mulukhia.
Boil for 1 minute. Turn off heater.
Cover the pot and leave it for 15 minutes.
.
Cook some rice and invite me and Ihab! If you can not cook come over. I still have some Mulukhia left in the fridge.
.
Mulukhia is jute leaf (ಸೆಣಬು). This is some what similar to Pundi Palya (ಪು೦ಡಿ ಪಲ್ಯ). Pundi is a plant similar to jute (white jute?). The fibre extracted from Pundi is used to make ropes. Pundi plants are dipped in water and left to rot. Pundi Kanni (ಕಣ್ಣಿ - rope knit to tie cattle) is ready for use when cows are worshipped in Deepavali. Dry Pundi stem is used to make festival torch used in torch procession which is similar in its form to Christmas tree burning ceremony in Belgium. Mulukhia is Pundi's brother. I also have some boubt if they are same :)

Alnaughty GOD!

Yup! GOD is alnaughty! Archbishop of Delhi talks in an interview. He happens to be from Puttur a town in Karnataka where there was some trouble with the religion. Here is a link to the pages of the book that says funny things about religion*.

I have found some thoughts on conversion reasonable.
"Only an intolerant and exclusive religious ideology requires conversion or funds it
on a massive scale."
Oh alnaughty GOD give me courage to handle rejection. Give others courage to tolerate my mediocrity and vice versa. Give me some gas so I can laugh at all these and oh GOD if you have time for a kapee let me know, let us go to Timhortons :) When we go to Timhortons Oh GOD I will ask this question keep an answer ready. Why did you make using balls much easier than using brain?

My concern really is not about any particular religion but about conversion from tolerence to intolerence, pluralism to monism and finally from the state of being stable minded to I do not know what minded.

Old refrain: more learned have said, "Samatvam Yogamuchyate" - Evenness is called Yoga.

Alnaughty true but which GOD? :(

*I have expressed sympathy and unconditional condemnation elsewhere.

Chaurasia

Exerpts from an interview:

"I am playing for the audience. But between us, I can see Lord Krishna. And the audience can also see him." Even in the west? "They cannot explain why but they go into a kind of meditation." He played a festival a few years ago, where "people were lying on the grass. For one and a half hours, I played just one raga and the entire crowd did not want it to end."

Back to poking fun at western musicians. How the famous Irish flautist and "very nice man" James Galway must rue the day that he had Chaurasia round for supper. It ended in a battle of the flutes.

"He was not able to blow my bamboo instrument, but I was able to blow his flute. He had three gold flutes and I had only one bamboo flute. I said: 'Why don't we exchange? That way you can practise on bamboo.'"

The swap didn't happen, of course - but how Chaurasia must have relished attempting it.
"
James Galway's flute is amazing; just runs through the spine! Especially those beats that he creates. Listen to him here and hear!

[3] They say self ref does not count; who cares?
.
.
Alcohol is not a bad thing; the sentence is not complete yet; if you have lot of inhibition. Alcohol, I have heard, makes people careless. If you are already careless like me, you do not need Alcohol! By the way, Alcohol is an ancient Sumerian word meaning "Evil"! I happened to run into XUL (XML UI Language) and XUL is pronounced as Alcool. You appear to be losing track and when the post too is starting look like every other post in this blog, just for a change let me tell you there is no context contrast this time! This post is on a case observation on inhibition.
.
.
.
I took a bus to get home, a different bus this time not going where I wanted to. I got in and it smelt like Lanka! I waited for about 30 seconds. I am sure everyone in the bus had nose! They probably felt it too; it really smelt like something was on fire, but they ignored. I went to the driver. Told her something is wrong. "Is it not from outside", she asked. I said, “it does not smell anything like this, outside”. She pulled over. We got out only to see smoke coming from somewhere behind the front wheels. Holly smokes! Everyone was asked to get out of the bus and move away from it! The driver called the emergency number and we took another bus after a while.
.
.
.
Have you ever been to a Chinese store? I went north instead of south and had to wait for another bus at another stop. I sneaked into to Chinese grocery cum herbal shop. The vastness of China can take our breath away, you know? They have stuffs of so many varieties that it probably out numbers rest of the world put together. I have never heard of or seen 99.9% of the things they sold there!
.
.
.
Have you ever eaten a Hill Cashew Nut (GuddE GEru)? It is not anything like Cashew, stronger and can burn our lips (even or hips) if eaten raw! A dry fruit I bought tasted similar but was sweeter and not so tart. Lesson: take a wrong bus/route you will learn a thing or two.
This post is still about inhibition. If you were feeling smart so far, let me tell you this: no one in that smokey bus appeared drunk, not even the not so bad looking Chinese girls. Go figure it out!
.
.
.
Thus ends the post named Inhibition (InhibitionO naama) written in no particular metre, by Raglya.

The Tiger Ghost Valley (ಹುಲಿಯಪ್ಪನ ಕಣಿವೆ)

If you are not supposed to die, you won’t. That is why many live to see the sun, under unbelievable circumstances. A boy was drinking water from a deep pit by a farm. Then he slips as if he ran out of luck. And yet holds on to a week pole spread across the pit. The pole may not break, but hands can hold him upside down, back touching water, for only a while. His friends were not too far away. But it takes a brave enough to risk to stretch a helping hand. Someone did!

I swear the boy did not know much, definitely not about computers. He knew a lot of things about, from how much it hurts when hit by a branch of particular tree or shrub to making a bamboo water gun or bamboo piston. He had been to the Tiger Ghost Valley only once! (ಹುಲಿಯಪ್ಪನ ಕಣಿವೆ)

Kannada words in Marathi

Although I am not sure, I think the following words are borrowed from Kannada.

Marathi Kannada English
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
changli chennagi well
dhavane dhavisu/dhavanta run
sangitle simillar to Dravidian sollu? say
poora poora full (Poorna-Sanskrit)

if you can find the right way to screw Sanskrit word or Persian word you will end up having a Marathi word. If you error you would have found a word in other languages such as Bengali, Odiya, Gujrathi!

Tachini, Vahini, and other words in Kannada are from Marathi.

farticle

Physicists, this is not about particles. Authors, this is not about articles. This is about farticle. Is it about farts? Smell my note on classification if you like. But, this is not about fart either.

There are many meanings to it in urban dictionaries (as if villagers do not use such words). When I thought of this word I choose to think this as a synonym for bad use of articles (grammar). I misuse them all the time. Many misuse them but unaware of their adventure most of the times. In short a farticle is an article used inappropriately.

Alright, now what? Now, look. They have one thing in common. They do not smell always. When we misuse articles we do not notice them all the time. Only sometimes when they smell bad we know. Another similarity to its obnoxious counter part is their use unintentional and we may even say uncontrollable!

Until the English speaking ban them and as long as we have articles in English we will have farticles. The!

Jane Kyon Log Pyaar kar te hain?

I do not know; ask those in love. I only care for the Hindi song. This song starts with a nice Didgeridoo play. A nice mixture of Didgeridoo compositions in the middle makes it nicer.

Listen here: Didgeridoo

It is an Australian instrument I have been told. I do not agree!:) PVC pipes can do the job. Try it. I did when I was a kid. Try 1/2 inch PVC pipes. They are very easy to play :) Much easier than Didgeridoo. You need a special/extra lung to play it. Much harder than playing Shanka (Conch). If you are used to playing Conch cotinuosly without break (turning the breath-usiru tirugisuvudu!) that wont work on Didgeridoo.

I am going to fix it nexttime I get hold of it. Needs practice I guess. Thanks to Amanda and Fred of Saskatoon.

Why is 7 prime?

In other words, why is prime prime? Some magical thoughts will follow.

Let us consider 8. 8 has two factors: 4x2=8. Why is 4x2 = 8? This is not a question in Formal Systems. I consider and agree the system is fine and think why only these factors.

Why does group of four in group of two make a group of eight? What does group of four mean?

will continue....

Drama

It was an utter flop. I however made a come back in a monoact ayear later. I had written a play based on a story that I heard on radio. I gathered three enthusiasts to act in it. Planned the dialog. Borrowed a cracker pistol from a friend. Used the coat that my uncle had brought. After a swift practice under a Banyan tree, we were on stage to perform a short play of our own. We sucked. No one new what the plot was. The plot was simplistic, acting lame.

A year later, I was able to come up with a monoact. I based it on the Jamakhandi Drama Company famous drama: Tipu Sultan. A quick and lonely practice behind the school was enough. Meer Sadhak, was played by then famous Vinoda Vidhyanidhi Mudugodu Shantkumar. I had seen Shantajja in Mudugodu, my mother's village. He also participated in Yakshagana. I still remember his Shoorpanakhi and his famous dialog "Hoosuvasane!". My grandfather played a meer Brahmana in the Seetaapahaara prasanga. This prasanga I recall has an amazing padya and lyrics: "NOdi nirmala jala sameepadi maadi kondaru parNashaaleya.."

I had plagiarised Shantajja's dialogs from the original drama generously in what I now call, "my monoact". The monoacting was OK for a 13 year old. We had another play the same night. I played a politician's role. A role that had lot of dialogs ,72 if I am right. Rajappa mestru took a lot of interest and also wrote a song specially to enhance the drama. That was my first and last drama.

Or so I thought, until a while ago! I now play the leading role in one of the biggest and most important dramas: my life! Hail nature! I have gifted senses. I can smell the plot easily. I was at the receiving end today in my life's drama. They were setting me up. Or so they thought! I can smell the fart of their previous life, godamn it. You still dont believe life is a drama? Look at these dialogs. I asked the girl at the Physical Activity Complex if the squash courts were free. She was about to hand us two rackets but I asked her, "Do you have balls?". She replied promptly, "you have to bring your own! ". Have a nice day.

Business Cycles

.
Lehman Brothers goes bankrupt with a debt of $68 bn. Merrill Lynch is under trouble and was bought over by Bank of America to save it from going under. AIG, the worlds largest insurance company went to the fed for funding. The crisis arrives to North America. The head of the Bundesbank Germany said this is the biggest crisis he has ever seen. Watch him below.
.
.
Will a depression follow? If I have to believe the book by Wesley Clair Mitchell, an economist (last edition 1960), yes all crises of this magnitude were folowed by depression in history without any exception! Many lost job in the US and also in UK. The story I read in the news is like a replay of what the book "Business Cycles" described about economic crisis. A while ago I thought it was another theoretical crap. No. The author is a wise man; book is written after a thorough research.
.
.
The problem is not just in US and UK. The French president has been complaining about inaction by the central bank of Europe. Canadian prime minister said yesterday that there are no chances of a depression (he is not an economist and he wants to win the election that is scheduled)! The central bank of Canada website anounced that it will help the US financial system to hold on by provising funding. There is a news that big bankers including citi group have come together to improve liquidity.
.
.
If the US, UK, Canada and some Europian economies go down, Indian economy will head south. There is a talk of IT down sizing in India. 1200 employees working for Lehman's BPO office close to Mumbai have lost job. We all might have to look for another job may be within a year! Who knows?

40 beats per minute is called Largo. Anything below 40 upto 20 bpm is called Larghissimo (as slow as possible). Hindustani Vilambit (Delayed/Slow) lay (tempo) is almost similar.

The Melody in Mind

Are you a bathroom singer? You are I bet, a singer somewhere, if not in bathroom. How does it sound? Naive question, you might think. No. Apart from the acustics of bathroom, the most melodious voice of yours and it sounding amazing all the time, something else lies in the midst. Humming follows a melody that floats in mind. The modulations, envolopes, and style, when nothing is being sung but only thought is the melody in mind.

What about it? It is far superior to what our vocal chords can produce. and obviously more joyful than listening even to a favourite song. So what? So music, my friend, need not always be associated with SOUND! Sound can be part of music but not a necessary part.

Same is true with rhythms. We can play drum in the head better than our hands can ever play. But the fun is not any less. How about a concert of minds? Let me know if you are interested!

Oh My Friends and Patrons

I have moved from Saskatoon to Toronto. I have a job now. As usual I write programs, repair them, test them. THANK YOU for supporting me. I have lost count of number of people I have approached. THANK YOU. Your support is valuable. This is my official intimation about my status. Treat this as an exclusive email. If you think I can be of some use drag me in to it. I will be more than happy.

Weed Flowers

Not wild, weed flowers! I have a lot of things to talk about these flowers that deffered my breakfast by hours this morning. While the Lahori Halwa sucked Poori was great. Some one needs to tell (it would not be me!) sheffs in North Indian restaurants that I can go buy half a leatre of cooking oil and drink it if I ever need oil. But when I like eating Chana Masala, I just want Chana Masala, not swimming Chana in an oil pool.

On my bicycle trip this morning some radom part of my head just pulled me to a road that would not take me to restaurant! It lead me by the Goalf Club (ha ha I knew there was one there). I found these intersting flowers by the sidewalk. Look at them awesome flowers. Tell me if you notice something. I will have my own thing to say about them.

Ri! Cycle

An article said, sex increases life expectancy. We have somany kid factories in India still our life expectancy is one of the lowest! My grandmother on the other hand was a window in her teens and lived a full hundred years. If this argument looks wiered, so be it!!

It seems only 13% waste generated in Toronto is recyclable. God know how much is degradable. I remember how mother used the waste to add to fertilizer stock and also how degradable waste was used to feed cows. I honestly do not rememer seeing any nondegradable waste back home until recently. I do not want you to waste your time on waste. An addvertisement used to say "dont waste timepass"!

Let us talk about bicycle. We know who invented it. No actually we do not know! In either case, what is your problem? Just use it. Why should you know all the story to ride it? My bike on the other hand is very expensive. The lock is even more expensive! It cost me $5 more than the bike. My card said "insufficient fund" when I paid $20 for the lock! Very expensive for a sports bike I guess. I also got to know why it is illegal to ride on a freeway. It is not so hard to kill ourselves riding on a freeway next to vehicles speeding at around 100+ Kms. If you choose to ride a bike at 1 am in the night like I did, dying can be even easier (Some fools call it morning! Morning is when you get to see Sun's hangover).

We are gathered here today to talk about business cycles. Bicycles and recycles were only a prelude. You got to be more serious dude! Can not talk always about bicycles. What about it? Thing is, interest rate in India was raised a few days ago by the Rezerve Bank of Bharatha. A book that I picked up by mistake started talking about how prosperity breeds criss. Shortage of short term loans, raise in prices, interest rate. So many things, confusing man! Know what, even economists are confused. You know why? becasue there is mist in econo-mist! Fog , I mean. The point of the argument is that If what I understood is right (common, when was that last time?) India might slip into at least a mild recession.

If you are still wondering how this relates to me, look, during prosprerity inefficiency grows. Unskilled dumb labours get jobs to somehow increase production (no not reproduction). That is how prosperity in India got job for dumb people like you and me. However, to get a job in a depressed economy is much harder. Pay wont be better either.

I am sure you are wondering by now, what about sex and life expectancy? How is that, discussed in the begining, related to this post?

Who said it is ?!

I ate Italy!

There are many reasons why Canada is one of the decent countries in the world; something an immigrant like me has always appreciated and of which Canadians should be proud .However, what made me sad is what the word "Canadian" means in Canada! Make a guess before I tell you a thing or two about it. I went to a restaurant in Ajax, one of the suburbs in Toronto area. The person with me was a dude who is one of the very good drivers I have seen. He told me once about driving. That he never drives but flies! That aside, what took me by surprise was his order. He said, "Give me a Canadian". Keep guessing while I take you around some of the interesting thoughts this Saturday.

Have you ever thought about a pant which grows as you grow? Have you ever questioned if such pants can laundry themselves while you continue to wear it? Adarsha one of my friends has a complete design for such a pant. His wife Srujana added that such a pant should also come with a embedded washroom and should change colour! Now, not willing to be left behind, let me add, ... I do not know man... it might sound crazy.. I will keep it for another post. Thing about all this was that we had some crazy trash talk and some wise predictions. We ruled that the Bloor station designers were stupid and the junction for north south and east west subway intersection in Toronto will collapse before the end of next week! We could say that by the loudness of the train running north to south. Alright, if that was not enough, after we were back from super market we ate Italy!

Have you ever eaten France? Netherland at least? eh? No? I feel sorry for you. We just had 6 Italies. Tamil some said has no or little compunds. Idli becomes Idali or Itali! (All langues have limitations, not just Tamil) So we had Italies in a Srilankan restaurant.

Then a Chinese looking guy asked us. You speak Kannada! Man, I was floored but the suprise was yet to come. When we said. "yes", he said he can speak Kannada in Kannada! He went on to explain that he was a Tibetian and had lived in Bengaluru. We spoke about Mundagodu and Dharmashala. I forgot to ask about Tibet. Then there were Chinese looking guys speaking English in thick Tamil accent. They used words like, "oNely", "Dhanks"! And then they spoke in Tamil. It took a while to realise Some Malaysians speak Tamil and they are not Indian Tamilians.

Then we bought some Nuts and Bolts! Nah.. some dry nuts actually then headed home.
The board to the friends Condo read "Residents only"! I am planing to stick a P behind it next time I go to make it, "Presidents only"! Do not ask me why!!

Now, to wake you up to what I strated with, "Did you guess what Canadian means in Canada?". It is a brand of Beer.

Are you a racist?

I have reasons to believe that the way we grow up has lot of room to make us racist. Irrespective of how plural surroundings are, we always judge and associate and even map some elements of the surroundings to others. For example, we associate smell to different things: fragrance to flower, foul smell to decaying and so on (let us leave details for future discussion). Not all associations are correct but some are not so obvious. We associate intelligence with caste, race etc. We hear all the time; some say Brahmins are more intelligent. I have run in to several North Americans who directly or indirectly admitted that they consider Jews smart. Isn't racism a slightly exaggerated version of these associations with a thick negative connotation?

How about Arabian horses? It goes unquestioned that they are the best horses in the world. Why does that not apply to humans? Are we being realistic when we say all races are equal? Definitely not. All races are different but horses are meant for running (let us agree on other details: control, endurance)! What matters is whether a horse is better at what it is supposed to do. They say, a ship is safe at shore but it is not what it is built for! Our IQ and other qualities make a huge difference in how we develop our societies. If we disregard exceptions, average of qualities differs. We can not quantify the difference but we know it makes a difference. If our nose and ass can be different, why not our intelligence?

If there are differences some will be better and others worse. Are these not enough for us to be biased? Some qualities such as power and intelligence are more useful in this world than others. Reality is that the world is biased in favour of some qualities and some of us have the advantage of possessing them a little more than others. I am practicing to leave all the prejudices to my heart and train my head (conscious decision) to be balanced. I will never listen to my heart (emotional decision) for I know it is biased. I would rather let my emotions enjoy the pleasures of experiences. In either case, what we are up against are bad reactions to these differences: racism.

Growth

Here is a pessimistic article about India's growth:
http://www.rediff.com/money/2008/may/29india.htm. I agree with most of his points. I can not agree with some of them because I do not understand. I disagree with some pessimism.

Indian agriculture slowing down is an old story. I had questioned the Indian ambasidor to Canada about governament's efforts to help 80%of the people who depend on agriculture. I pointed out that agriculture was not mentioned in her speech which was abot India shining! She corrected me saying only 60% depend on agriculture now. True but it is also true that their contribution to GDP is less than 20% and agriculture takes nearly half of India's land. In summary, so called reforms and development are not helping 600 million people. Corporate savings which we 5 times less than domestic savings are now only 3 times lesser! Corporations have more money than people.

It is also true, industrial growth, at best is stagnent. Only thing that remain is services. Services have done well. But we can not eat services, can we? Infrastructure: Bengaluru like cities are in shambles. What about rural infrastructure? It still takes forever to call my parents. Good communication and transport is still a dream. Capital expenditure (i mean babu's salaries) is at 13 billion and beyond, a little less than India's software export revenue! Manmohan is still working hard to add fat to the rich asses.

What about inflation? So called growth for the rich is increasing cash flow resulting in more demand and inflation.

heart broken Indians!

Some Observations on Yakshagana

Yakshagana is a musical theatre art form developed in Karnataka, India. A unique art form where all of its components: music (both singing and rhythms), dance, dialogue and plot development, are improvised. The framework for improvisation is: for rhythm, the Tala; for dialogue, the character; for plot the theme. Singing and dancing, in my opinion, do not have a stricter framework yet. I note, in the same breath, that it is naive to label this a folk art. Yakshagana is more refined and richer in some aspects than so called classical art forms.

Singing is unique in that it is sung in a high pitch with a thick folk flavour (Male: E, F) making it more popular. Singing vaguely adheres to some Raaga. Although songs are composed in a particular Raaga, they are always rendered according to the tradition. Thus, adherence to Raaga is only guided/determined by the strength of the syllables in the song since the Baagavatha (singer) does not have voice training other than the traditional training. Traditional training does not consider scales. The lack of a stringed instrument in the performance clearly shows that Yakshagana does not focus on sophistication in melody. I believe that the focus is rather on rhythms. The reasons I can think of for such inclination are niche following focusing on rhythms and commercial viability. We can clearly see an advantage here. This lack of conformity has enabled development of a distinct form of singing. A form that will establish itself as a completely separate school of music. Yakshagana signing already has enough unique features in it. Singing in a Raaga keeping the flavour of Yakshagana is a highly probable development which might take several hundred years to emerge and also might need a huge amount of interest. Drone always uses sa and Sa (an octave high). Singing a composition may involve more than one Raaga.

Rhythms are the most prominent part of Yakshagana. Yakshagana rhythms are separate and likely predate the Karnataka Sangeetha rhythms. Yakshagana rhythms have more fillers in between the beats especially played on Chande. These filling beats render Taals unrecognisable. The complexity of Yakshagana rhythms is unique in its own way. If Yakshagana were to improve sophistication by caring more about Chande's (drum) ability to produce distinct sounds, complexity will have to come down. It is this complexity (and powerful beats) that makes Yakshagana popular. Contrary to the belief that more complex the rhythm becomes people tend not to understand and follow, complexity makes the rhythm melodic. When the beats get close enough, a melody emerges and people easily follow the melody. The melody of rhythms buries the complexity and makes it sound simple. In any case, Maddale (mrudanga) is played without more distinct rhythm syllables. Sophistication in the tatkara (bols) is lost in performance. Recently a composition always has more than one Taala as opposed to single Taala compositions around 40 years ago (I have been told!).

Dancing although is supposed to follow the tradition of Yakshagana, it is not the case in reality. Recently Yakshagana dance is turning into break dance and folk dance. Nevertheless, there is an established style. The style is specific to a character as well. All aspects dance, music, dialogue are controlled to develop and portray a character as traditionally intended. Mudra and posture are well defined. Improvisation also has a framework which is a responsibility not to violate the features of a character. However, the framework is not well developed enough to bring some amount of conformity. The less emphasis on abhinaya is due to the presence of dialogues. Shivaram Karantha's ballet attempt was to enhance abhinaya by removing dialogue.

A very good dialogue demands scholarship. Although dialogues have gotten loose in the name of on the fly speaking, it still remains charming. One important thing that still remains interesting is, speaking to a drone! Dialogues are always to a drone making the dialogue music to the ears. We also get that kick out of those dialogues. It makes the dialogues sound extraordinary.

The Yakshagana aata (play) as a whole is a performance. Audience are a part of it. The discussion of the performance, paan filled red mouth, comments on characters, green room visits and chat with the performers, snacks, appreciation, everything is a part of the performance. It is a family night out; an art crawl. Now with the introduction of 3hr performances, some of its charms are lost but is more accessible to the busy crowd in the cities.

I will eagerly wait (I will ask my kids when I die!) for the day when Yakshagana turns into a Mattu (school of classical dance) from merely a Tittu (a variation of musical art) while I continue to enjoy what it is now.

glow

there are different levels of conformance. higher degree of conformance to accepted norms is usually taken to be of higher quality. it occured to me, on a dull day that was last sunday, it is incorrect to attribute quality to conformance. however, i stop to acknowledge the effort and detail involved in achieving conformance.

in simple inglipish "unconditional appreciation is the key, not quality" (social socialism? eh?). i remember my grandfather appreciating even a rotten performance. he would say something that meant, "it was interesting in its own way!". that is only an example; i am not talking only about art. Be it science or anything for that matter. a seed for development lies not in conformity but in difference/deviation. pressumed lack of quality comming out of nonconformance is very important for development and hence deserves support.

even simpler: appreciating everything is very(!) neccessary. i know it is a hardest thing to do, but i am convinced , it is a more useful way of being.

if you did not understand what i was saying, easiest way to tell you is to tell you to appreciate my blog inspite of grammar and spelling mixtakes! i wont correct them, in either case :)

Plumeria - ಕಣಗಲ ಹೂವು

The image is stolen from somewhere!:)
This is ಕಣಗಲ ಹೂವು. Plumeria in Inglish. We made ಗಿರಿಗಿಟ್ಟಿ (girigitti) with these flowers. All you need is a grass stick (ಕರಡದ ಕಡ್ಡಿ) and a paddy hay tube. We ran against the wind with this rotating flower in hand! sexy? eh?

Most interesting thing about this tree is that if you separate a twig from a tree and hang it in the air you will see it growing! Leaves sprout from the hanging twigs!

This flower smells heaven. The tree is completely fragile. No one dares climb the tree! Yes its friend Karaveera stands next to it in our village.

This is used to make the famous Naga Champa incense sticks (along with sandle oil). I saw how the Native Sweet Grass is used. But nomatch for ಧೂಪ (Vateria Indica).

Why is this suddenly in my blog? :) Unlike in other places, Havyaka bride garlands the groom with a garland made of this flower, before the knot is tied! Then I have to return the favour. :)

a guide line to instructors and teaching assistants says:

"It is not appropriate to date or flirt with your students. If a student is flirting with you, make it clear that you are not interested and that this behaviour is inappropriate. Note also that you should respect every student's physical space. Everyone has privacy and space needs, and our personal preferences regarding this may differ -- a general rule is that you should not touch or make physical contact with the students you are helping. the rainmaker

rainmaker refers to First Nations people who lead the ritual to bring rain. in Karnataka there was a tradition. an unmarried girl visited houses with something on her head and people poured freshly picked water on her while the other girls around her sang folk songs that bring rain. i have forgotten what the whole thing was called. it was interesting. i recall, it is Kappe Maduve: the marriage of frogs. they carried a rain frog called "vater kappe" in a basket over the head. rain frogs are frogs that make a vater vater noise and it is widely believed that they make more noise when it is about to rain in a while. vatergappe. i have seen it works. the more learned have called them common rain frogs.

[1] many claim they are only in Africa. i am sure there are some in India. at least similar if not the same. biology people figure out!

however, so called the sophisticated also do such rituals as Parjanya. i have carried water and we filled the sanctum sanctorum of a temple completely with water. there is a related vedic ritual , together they are supposed to bring rain. i enjoyed the whole process. silk, sacred topless clothe, hymns and the team effort brings people together during drought; not a bad idea.

the rainmaker is a novel by john grisham. i call it a story; it is short; only 80 pages. the last novel i read was 2 years ago: not a penny more not a penny less. i do not remember reading any novel other than this since long. i overheard Napoleon say only women read novels; men should read geography. now that i do not have wars at hand, i chose other ...graphies.

the rainmaker is a crisp fast running story. its style sometimes resembled my own way of talking. implies a lot and jumps from scene to scene in an unexpected way. uses readers imagination to fill the gaps. calls new characters by name and never explains who they are, leaving users guessing. the american setting and names do not help international readers much. i disliked its ending: hero marrying the wife of someone! could the author not think of something better? but it still is an amazing story.

the rainmaker is about a law student and his first case that he fights against an insurance company who refused pay a poor couple whose son has blood cancer. Donny Ray dies. Rudy fights the case in an interesting way and wins. disgusted, abandons the law profession.

by the way jury system was abolished in India i think in 1965. read about it here.

some thoughts on "civil" society

If Gandhiji did not drink but he is a hero, if you do not drink you face questions, "are you religious?". If Adi Shankara was a vegetarian it made him a saint, if you are vegetarian it is not any "more civilised". Jesus loved; do not follow it! You will be labeled timid. Do not tell the truth! You will look like a stupid!

Himalayan yogis smoke they are anubhaavis (ascetics?!) Buddha is an epitome of nonviolance while most buddhists are nonvegetarian. Meat eating majority on the other hand forms most of the "civil" society! I mean meat eating alcohol drinking class is more civilised and progressive, if you are not with them your are conservative. Saint Shishunala sharif drank country liquor shankari (his teacher a brahmin taught him that)

Yajnkvalkya an ancient philosopher and the author of the ancient laws Yajnyavalkya smruti ate beef! Meat eating Hindus won't! Eastern philosophy is mystic; Greek philosophy is majestic. Now blonde Jesus was a semite. There are so many Hindu gods that it is not even possible to figure them out! I read a text book of Music History. It categorises early Indian classical music as, I quote "uncivilised music".

"civil" society is at best a bastard of reason and hypocrisy.

a need as a casue for noninfectious chronic physiological disorders

after careful thought i hypothesize that "need" is the primary cause for irreversible physiological changes, causing noninfectious chronic physiological disorders. to summarize the implications of such a behaviour, the following can be said:

a) disorders such as, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, asthma, and mental illness are caused not only by genetic predisposition but by a need for certain physiological condition (a concrete example will follow).

b) the need could be a result of environmental factors, genetic factors or other disorders in the body.

c) it is thus possible to prevent chronic diseases by carefully researching the need and satisfying the need or by removing conditions causing the need.

i am presenting a concrete example using diabetes as an example.

if a person has stones in kidneys, one of the ways body can get rid of the stone is by needing more fluids. by creating an artificial dehydration body can make us consume more water for example. how can dehydration be created? there could be other ways, but we do not know how a particular mechanism is chosen. it may so happen that dehydration can be caused by polyuria (making us to piss more). again one of the ways to create polyuria is to increase blood sugar. if the body can increase sugar levels it can cause dehydration by preventing kidney from retaining water. prominent way to increase blood sugar is to kill beta cells there by stopping insulin production or producing delta cell tumor causing increased somatostatin production inhibiting insluin production. delta cells will not help much because they only decrease insulin production . this can happen in anyway killing beta cells (type 1) or inducing resitance to insulin(type 2) are effective in increasing blood sugar and there by causing dehydration. there could be antidiuretic hormone deficiency causing more pissing. the point is this results in some chronic condition including diabetes.

simply put a kidney stone may cause diabetes because kidney stone needs dehydration and diabetes is one of the ways to create dehydration (polydipsia). i am not aware of mechanism that is responsible for choosing a particular mechanism for causing a particular condition. but i only speculate that genetic predisposition might influence such a selection. for people who are not predisposed body might have to choose a reversible mechanism or an irreversible mechanism of the other kind causing other chronic condition such as insipidus (antipissing hormone deficiency).

thus to satisfy a need body panics and initiates a mechanism. if we are unlucky (read the choice happens to be) the mechanism might be irreversible causing a chronic condition.

similarly i am willing to argue that cancer is caused by a need for increased number of particular cells. which initiates an unknown irreversible mechanism causing uncontrollable cell division.

i searched if my intuition can find some support in medical lit. indeed there are several research results supporting my claim. i will cite them here when i find time. till them medicine people this should give you several research problems. go find out :)

Thanks to Prabhakara Medihala for explaining some physiology stuff so a computist can understand it.

[1] lack of water in brain causes increased blood sugar
[2] treatment of kidney stone might cause diabetes
[3] i did not find any study that says.. kidney stone causes diabetes... :) people do a survey......

we both are Ind0-Europian languages. but the similarity blows me away. i encounter many words that resemble Sanskrit counterparts. i am listing some of them. i will add as i see more. these are apart from the well known mother, father, brother, sugar.

Sanskrit/variations - English
bandha - bond
vinasha - vanish
gachha - go
tat - that
aham - i am
naama - name
barbara- barbaric
manu - man
na - no
threeni - three
asta - octo
sapta - seven
mama - my

i will add more when i hear them...
there is a lot of similarity between upsargas and prefix and sufix in English.

i recited Yambrahma Varunendra Marutaha for fun. i have spit the compounds (sandhi) it sounds cooler than the regular version (listen here).

Chaos Theory

here is a chaos engine. (click it, it is interesting, you lazy X!) this is called the Lorenzian Water Wheel after Edward Lorenz a scientist who died few days ago. hiking lovers, he went hiking days before he died! hey you haters, he did not die becasue of hiking! fun aside, i could not find his paper "Predictability: Does the Flap of a Butterfly’s Wings in Brazil set off a Tornado in Texas?". if you find it pass it to me.

read wikipedia for chaos theory. it is about determinism in seemigly random behaviour which are drastically affected by initial conditions. the famous butterfly effect is here.

this equation defines the butterfly:

do not run away. becasue like others (i mean programer who show a piece of source code and scare others) mathematicians make things difficult by drawing crazy symbols. they are simple most of the times. the equations describe how (x, y, z), the position describing something (a dynamic system) changes with time t. when x,y,z for different t and with some value for weights meta keta peta (i mean greek letters!) are pllotted, resulting structure defines a dynamic system such as the water wheel. it is called the Lorenz Attractor. (another name huh?)

although i never loved solving differential equations one thing i loved is to declare that the name is a misnomer. it should have been relations of rate change. they are all about the relatives of changing things!

more precisiely, a "rate change relation" is a relation between a relation that is supposed to be discovered and rate at which this unknown relation changes. at the end we will get a relation that has the relation described by the "rate change relation" (differential eqaution).

chaos theory is used in weather prediction. as of today it is known that weather prediction beyond 8 days is not reasonable due to the behaviour inherent to the weather system. knowledge of initial conditions are not of much help they say. but my interest stops there.

chaos killed him. i'm sorry, actually, cancer killed Edward Lorenz. wait! i mean chaotic behaviour of cell division! was i right when i said chaos killed him?

is drinking alcohol progressive?

the author of an article in Outlook India proudly explained how he consumed alcohol while trying to tell the story of journalism in Outlook India. Not only was it irrelevant, but only served the purpose of showing him a "progressive" individual.

i am fed up with the people who tell me that drinking alcohol is a sign of progress! a professor here explained me about lefties. drinking and non vegetarianism is considered a sign of progressive people in India where both are considered "not good". in North America however, being vegan is associated with lefties where it is not a norm. these lefties mistake progress for difference. to be a progressive minded individual, one neither has to be a non-vegetarian and/or a drunkard but irrespective of their habits one has to be progressive in the real sense of the word.

how many agree if i say that taking drugs (hash/heroin) is a sign of progress? hash is legal in the Netherlands. they sell them(only in some pubs) like alcohol selling in America(only in liquor stores). drugs only damage head; alcohol also damages liver. governaments spend millions to ask people not to drive when they are drunk and yet most accidents happen because of drunk driving. real progress in deed! now, how can people say drinking alcoholic beverages is progressive when they do not consider drugs a sign of progress? to put it in plain, simple English, these "left-liberals" follow the "principle of convenience". if you like drinking drink it; if you like doing what others do not do because of religion/culture/tradtion, do it. but do not tell me it is becasue you are progressive.

not drinking and not eating meat is hard. i go hungry in many airports when they can not even give a bun and cheese while they conveniently stuff in meat in between and sell them. "no veggie burger sir!", they are not even sorry. forget about cultural non-conformance, nothing they do is physically hard.

my uncle told me a funny thing about society: we have more police outposts, more old age homes, and more hospitals in our town than we did before, our town is progressing! more crime, more children not caring for their parents and more diseases can not reflect progress. this is digress.

but the "progressive" people have made the life/maths easier now; just count the holes in their liver, you will know how developed your society is! easy in deed!

An example for currupt researchers

A paper in the American Journal of Epidemiology written by Jarmo Virtamo and his clique from Finland, says that "Drinking Beer Reduces the Risk of Kidney Stones".

Even a dumb ass like me would immeditely ask a question. Did the study test the subjects against the same amount of water? Even a kid knows dehydration is the primary casue of renal calculus (renal calculus is a term medicos use, to make sure others do not understand them. engineers and lawyers and almost everyone uses this trick to hold on to their job!). So, any study should make sure that general fluid intake will not confound the factor under investigation.

Now, read the paper. Look at the page 188, 2nd Column, First Paragraph, Last two lines. It reads "... other than water per se, since
drinking water was not included in the questionnaire.".

What they said in those brief phrases is another way of saying that, "the alcohol bevarage idustry paid us to produce these results". What about the reviewers in the AJE? How many gallons of acetylecholines should be running in their heads to accept this study? Or was it just a few tins of free Stella Atwa thrown at them to make them publish this "research".

Hey progressive people, and liberals born in the dust filled libraries, do not cite this paper! Go out and get a life!!!

not voting? your place is in hell

Are you a Software Engineer? It is most likely that your name is not in the voters list. There are high chances that you goto a picnic on election day.
Yamaraja telephoned me to say that he has boiling oil ready for all the softies, in the hell. Fun aside! If your name is not in the list.. stand up wo/men and get counted. If we do not vote we should not complain should we? If we are irresponsible how can we ask others to be responsible?
Get your id here if you have not.

I will lose an oppurtunity to vote in general elections this May for the first time after I was 18.

How are you today?

I cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be "happy." I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honorable, to be compassionate. It is, above all, to matter: to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.

Spring of the Sarvadhārin (Sarvadhari)

Indian mythology explains that there were many sons to Brahma, the creator. Years are named after 60 of them. This year starting on April 7th, is named after Sarvadhārin. According to one of the Hindu calendars, this year is 1930 SE (Saka Era); an era named after the emperor Shalivahana.

India traditionally has six seasons: Spring (Vasanta), Summer (Greeshma), Monsoon (Varsha), Preautumn (Sharad), Autumn (Hemanta), and Winter (Shishira). Spring starts on the first day of the year. (VaGriVaShaHeShi)

Happy New Year 1930 SE.

how to make rotti

Look at them aussom rottis. Me and Manju made them tonight. We will explain how this can be made easily and in no time.

Preparing the dough
----------------------
add few pinches of salt to whole wheat flour
add cold water and knead till the dough is smooth
keep the dough for 20 minutes

Making the rotti
----------------------
make dough balls each of the size of a lemon
roll the dough balls flat, using the wheat flour, use no oil
bake both the sides of the rolled dough on a pan until it looks like the picture above
put the half baked rotti on a mesh and hold closely above the heater
see it bulge like a poori

get ready to eat. This is the way rotti is made by Havyakas of Sagara region in Karnataka. I have not seen anyone else make rotti like this. i guess many would make rotti this way. this can be made in 30 minutes and tastes great.

Ragu and Manju

Watch this animation to see how dough is prepared.

good luck girl

everything except marriage is Made in China. we know where the marriages are made! why are marriages made in heaven? just for a change; we will immediately have to go to hell anyway! my grandfather once famously asked a man, "they said someone's wife ran away. you are that fella right?". a wife is much more complex to explain than a life, more experienced have told me. in short, on a serious note, and more reasonably, marriage is a complex relationship.

i was 18 and one day wished a girl good luck in her final exams. my friend next to me asked, what would look like a strange question. "why do not you consider marrying her?" he had asked. a decade ago i was not even sure of what that would really mean. everyone knows what marriage is; i knew when i was five! i knew exactly what it was! it was a women from some other village coming and living with a another family like ours so that a boy like me could come out of the women's bellybutton. that is what my mother told me. i had asked my mother, "where did i come from!". not much has changed in how i understand marriage! there is more detail to it and about where i come from, i was off by only 3/4 of a feet. not just that, i knew very well that my parents were lying when they said, i was dancing in front of the band, in their marriage! but knowing what a relation is and appreciating the magnitude of a relation are two different things.

a school junior of mine had a baby in her hand when i saw her last. i was in the college trying to get a degree. she had asked me, "you still in school?". yes, i am still in school after many years. a decade passed by since my friend's comment. my friend is looking. i am looking and the good luck girl is getting engaged. i have to tell her the same thing again: good luck.

Negetive Calorie is a myth?

Looks like that . I got to know that apple is a negetive calorie fruit and then some where some one wrote a mango is negetive calorie! mango? common people mango ha ha mango and negetive calorie glad they did not say sugarcane! and then came the shock a website said Grape fruit is negetive calorie food. These people have lost their nuts and bolts.
I looked at it again, there can not be such a thing as negetive calorie. It appears to be an urban superstition (pEtE guggugalu). There could be some that might have no calorie at all but negetive calorie is unlikely. Becasue it is unlikely that we will be able to measure NO ONE CAN PROVE ME WRONG people! NO negetive calorie food ok? get it?
